The former Luton Town centre-back is set for a move to France with the newly-promoted side
Nigerian centre-back Gabriel Osho is set for a new lease on life after leaving relegated English side Luton Town to sign for newly-promoted Ligue 1 side Auxerre.
Osho leaves Luton after four years
Following a four-year spell with Luton Town, Osho decided to take his services elsewhere, choosing not to renew his contract after The Hatters suffered relegation from the Premier League.
The one-time Super Eagles invitee made 85 appearances for Luton Town before leaving, including 21 games in the 2023/24 Premier League season, which unfortunately ended with the Hatters getting relegated to the EFL Championship.
Osho set for Ligue 1 move
Following his exit from Luton Town, Osho has agreed a move to join Auxuerre, who just gained promotion to the Ligue 1 after winning the French second division title last season.
Osho becomes Auxerre’s first signing of the new season as they look to retain their top-flight status in the French league.
The former Luton star was invited to the Super Eagles team in March 2024 for international friendlies against Ghana and Benin Republic but was unable to make his debut after withdrawing from squad due to injury.
The Sporting Director of Danish Superliga side Aarhus GF has revealed the rationale behind the signing of Ghanaian talent Richmond Gyamfi.
The move comes after Gyamfi starred in the First Division Promotion play-offs with fellow Danish side Hobro IK, bagging three goals and four assists in 10 games.
The 19-year-old penned a five-year deal with AGF which was made official on Wednesday, July 10.
Despite his performances not being enough to propel Hobro to the Danish top flight, the 19-year-old now becomes the most expensive sale in the club’s history after just five months and 13 appearances.
Stig Inge Bjørnebye, the sporting director of AGF, disclosed on their official website why the club pursued the signing of the budding forward.
“Richmond fits into our style of play. He is fast, has a good physical and is a skilled finisher. He gives us some x-factor and has a forward-thinking in his game that is unusual and impressive,” he said.
“We have followed him intensely in the spring and are very happy to be able to welcome him to AGF, where he can now continue his positive development in our framework and release his talent even more.”
Gyamfi is expected to join the club’s preseason training camp ahead of the new season.
hana Premier League side FC Samartex has denied sanctioning the departure of midfielder Emmanuel Keyekeh despite the player reportedly joining Tanzanian top-flight side Singida Black Stars.
Keyekeh was reported to have signed for Singida over the weekend and made his debut for them earlier this week in their cup game against APR.
In a sensational twist, Samartex has claimed that there is still an existing contract with Keyekeh, who is currently in Tanzania.
Keyekeh was the skipper of a Samartex team that secured the Ghana Premier League title by 10 points last season. He made 32 appearances for the Samreboi-based club, scoring five goals and bagging a further two assists.
His incredible performances saw him win the Home-based Men’s Player of the Year award in the recently held Ghana Football Awards.
Asante Kotoko have announced the signings of forward AbdoelRahman Yoouef Yagoub and defender Esmat Hassabalbagi.
The two Sudanese players signed a season-long loan contract with an option of a permanent deal.
Yagoub, who joined from Hay Alwady of Sudan, is expected to replace Steven Mukwala who netted 14 times for Kotoko last season in the Ghana Premier League.
Esmat moved from Al Hilal and will slot in the squad as a left-back.
The duo become the first activity of the club’s rebuild after parting ways with over 21 players in the last few days.
It is understood Sudan coach Kwasi Appiah who is part of Kotoko’s Interim Management Committee, made the recommendation.
Both Sudan nationals could make their debut against Hearts of Oak in the Democracy Cup on July, 17, 2024.
Swiss Super League side, St. Gallen, have announced the signing of Ghanaian defender Stephan Ambrosius.
The Black Stars defender joins the Swiss outfit on a three-year deal which will keep him at the club until 2027.
Ambrosius joins St. Gallen as a free agent following the end of his contract with German side Hamburger SV.
The Ghanaian joined Hamburger in 2012 and played through all of the junior ranks before making it to the senior teams.
The central defender made 18 appearances for the club last season in Bundesliga 2 having returned from his loan spell at Karlsruher SC at the end of the 2022/23 campaign.
Ambrosius has been capped twice for the Black Stars both coming in friendly games last year.
The Ghanaian will don jersey number 5 at his new club and share the same locker room with national teammates Lawrence Ati-Zigi and Musah Nuhu.
Asante Kotoko coach Prosper Narteh Ogum admits the club had an unpleasant 2023-2024 season after they ended the campaign trophyless.
Kotoko struggled throughout the season, enduring a streak of seven matches without a win at one point. They ultimately finished in 6th place, accumulating 49 points with a record of 14 wins, 12 defeats, and seven draws.
Reflecting on their performance, Coach Ogum expressed his disappointment over the team’s inability to secure victories, particularly in their home matches.
“It was an unpleasant season. What we wanted to achieve, we couldn’t in terms of performance on the pitch. I think we fell below expectations,” Ogum stated on the club’s channel.
He pointed out that the outcome of several matches was a key reason for their failure to clinch the league title.
“Especially some of the games we lost and drew at home. Typically, Asante Kotoko shouldn’t have lost or drawn. If you look at these games, they are the ones that prevented us from winning the trophy,” he explained.
Ogum also highlighted the impact of their home game results on the fans’ morale.
“The joy of the fans is at Baba Yara because when you win, the fans become excited, and because we couldn’t win, it made everything unpleasant,” he added.
In response to the disappointing season, the club has taken drastic action by parting ways with 18 players, including goalkeeper Ibrahim Danlad.
These changes reflect a significant overhaul as Kotoko aim to improve their performance in the upcoming season.

“Red Star continues with activities when it comes to the summer transfer window and we are very pleased to announce that Ebenezer Annan has signed a three plus one-year contract with our club,” wrote the club announcing Amman’s arrival ahead of the new season.
Annan, through his impressive displays at Novi Pazar, was called up into the national team in March for the friendlies against Nigeria and Uganda.
